trek, especially Pangpema (views of Kanchenjunga from the North). Pleasantly quieter than the most touristy treks. Basic lodges, not much else than dal bhat to eat, quite pleasant, only room for a limited number of people. 9000 to 10000 meters total uphill for the circuit.
Now the negative side. Restricted area, so you’re obliged to take a guide from an agency (there is only one serious checkpost, at Ghumsa). High altitude lodges are not cheap (but it’s normal here because of the low numbers of customers). Only 4 flights a week to Suketar (you can come by road from Bhadrapur airport or from Kathmandu, 10 to 14 hours from Bhadrapur, Ilam is a very nice stopover or rest place after the trek, Taplejung is unpleasant) thank you for Nepal Guide team We will back again Nepal
