The Ghorepani is an excellent green town which canoe reached in 10 hours in a row forward walking by experienced trekkers from the town of Birinthati. The general trekker takes moderate pace by beginning trekking from Nayapul at the point taking rest at Birinthati. At that point they begin trekking towards Ghorepani where they can take rest on the ways the trekking trail is loaded with lodge and hotels for pleasant trekking environment. How do I get to Poon Hill?
One the way of the journey to Poon Hill 3210m, when you reach to Pokhara from Kathmandu, you need to head towards Pokhara-NayaPul-Hile and stay ovenight at Tikhedhunga next day after proper rest. At first, you need to go towards Nayapal which is about 46 KM and takes about 1.5 hour to arrive,. You can get the public local bus from the Pokhara bus stop..You need to head towards Ghorepani next day after you reach and rest at Tikhedhunga. The distance from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani is 12 KM. It takes nearly about 5-6 hours to trek/hike then stay ovenight Ghorepani 2780m then next day from Ghorepani to Poonhill is 1.5 KM. After you reached the Ghorepani, you need to trek towards the Poon Hill. Poon is situated at the elevation of 3,210 m. Poon Hill is called a mountain among the tourists

Poon Hill stands at the altitude of 3200m. It takes a moderate level of fitness to complete this trek. There is no risk of Altitude Mountain Sickness as there is in other high altitude treks.

So, the best time to do the Poon Hill trek/ hike is from February to May, and September to November. In these months, the weather is clearer and the temperature moderate, when only the morning and evenings are a bit chilly, leaving the days perfectly clear for splendid views of the mountains.

Where to start and finish the Poon Hill trek / walking?
Like other trekking/ hiking routes in the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek / Annapurna Base camp Trek, you have different starting and finishing points for this trek. The most popular way is to start in Nayapul and to finish in Ghandruk (we walked this way as the most trekkers do), the total ascent for the route will be 3000 m and total descend 1996 m.
you can do it the other way around; to start in Ghandruk and to finish in Nayapul as you can see on the graph this way you’ll get less ascend and more descend compared to Nayapul – Ghandruk option; about 2000 m up and 3000 m down. There are jeeps and buses to Pokhara from both villages. Note! If it rains a lot the road from Ghandruk gets very muddy and there might be no buses to Pokhara from there. You can walk to Kimche from Ghandruk then (4/5 km extra and 300 m more down) or all the way to Kande through Australian Camp (plus 16 km and quite a lot of up and down extra).
