Latest information 26th May 2024 about permits required for the Manaslu Circuit trek in Nepal. Keep in mind that prices and regulations may have changed, so it’s essential to double-check with reliable sources by Nepal government information’s authorities for the most up-to-date information:
Manaslu Restricted Area Permit: The Manaslu region is a restricted area, and a special permit is required to trek there. This permit is typically obtained through a registered trekking agency in Nepal. As of my last update, the cost of the Manaslu Restricted Area Permit was around USD 70-100 per week, depending on the season. normally Spring season 70$ USD per week and autumn season 100$ usd per weeks .
Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP): Since the Manaslu Circuit trek also passes through parts of the Annapurna Conservation Area, trekkers are required to obtain an ACAP permit. The cost of the ACAP permit varies depending on nationality but is generally around USD 20-30.
TIMS Card (Trekker’s Information Management System): The TIMS card is another essential permit for trekking in Nepal. However, as of my last update, the requirement for a TIMS card was not applicable for the Manaslu Circuit trek.
It’s crucial to keep in mind that regulations and permit costs can change, so it’s advisable to check with the Nepal Tourism Board or a reliable trekking agency for the most current information before planning your trek. Additionally, trekking with a licensed guide is often required in the Manaslu region, and the guide can assist with obtaining the necessary permits.

As mentioned above, the permit costs per person are Rs 4000 for MCAP and ACAP plus US$70 per week for the restricted area (Jagat to Dharapani). A guide can cost upwards of $25 per day, a porter upwards of $20 per day (very approximate) and they normally manage their own food and accommodation,
A trekking permit is a must to travel to controlled areas mentioned below. Permit, however, is issued only to groups. Individual trekkers will not be issued trekking permit.
Entry Permit to Trek in Conservation Areas Manaslu Regions

For SAARC Nationals: Nepali Rupees 200.
For other Nationals (other than SAARC countries): Nepali Rupees 3,000.
Note: Above entry fee rates exclude 13% VAT compliance (Value Added Tax)
Note:Entrance fee not required for children under 10 years of age.
Trekkers are required to obtain individual Entry Permits for visiting ACA and MCA.
Two passport size photographs are required while applying for each Entry Permit.
Terms and Conditions:
This Entry Permit is valid for single entry only and is non refundable, non-transferable. The permit holder can enter the designated places within the Conservation Area.
Person entering the Conservation Area shall abide by the National Park and Wildlife Conservation Act, 2029 B.S. (1973) and the Regulations made under this Act.
This Entry Permit must be carried during the entire trip and should be shown if concerned personnel of the Conservation Area want to check it.
Entry permits to Annapurna Conservation Area and Manaslu Conservation Area will only be issued from the following Entry Permit Counters listed below. Entry Permits will not be issued from any check posts along the trekking routes of the Conservation Areas. Therefore, all are requested to obtain an Entry Permit before entering the Conservation Areas. However, under special circumstances, Entry Permit may be issued from the check posts along the trekking route upon a payment of 100% additional charge.

Pokhara: Nepal Tourism Board, Tourist Service Centre, Pardi Damside (for Annapurna only)

2 MUSTANG DISTRICT
Areas of Upper Mustang For the first 10 days US$ 500 per person and after 10 days US$ 50 per day per person, or equivalent convertible foreign currency.
3 GORKHA DISTRICT
a. Manaslu Region From September to November US$ 70 per week per person and after 7 days US$ 10 per day per person or equivalent convertible foreign currency. From December to August US$ 50 per week per person and after 7 days US$ 7 per day per person or equivalent convertible foreign currency.
b. Areas of Chhekampar and Chunchet VDC (Sirdibas-Lokpa-Chumling-Chhekampar -Nile-Chhule Area) From September to November, per person US$ 35 for first 8 days and from December to August per person US$ 25 for first 8 days or equivalent convertible foreign currency
4 MUGU DISTRICT
Areas of Mugu, Dolpu, Pulu and Bhangri For the first 7 days US$90 per person and after 7 days US$ 15 per day per person or equivalent convertible foreign currency.
5 MANANG DISTRICT
Areas of Nar and Phu From September to November, US$ 90 per week per person and December to August US$ 75 per week per person or equivalent convertible foreign currency.
6 DOLAKHA DISTRICT
Gaurishankar and Lamabagar Per week per person US$ 10 Or equivalent convertible foreign currency.
7 RASUWA DISTRICT
Thuman and Timure Per week per person US$ 10 Or equivalent convertible foreign currency.
8 HUMLA DISTRICT
Simikot and Yari (Areas of Limi and Muchu village Development Committee, and area way to Tibet via Tangekhola of Darma Village Development committee) For the first 7 days US$ 50 per person and after 7 days US$7 per day per person or equivalent convertible foreign currency.
9 SANKHUWASABHA
Areas of Kimathanka, Chepuwa,Hatiya and Pawakhola VDCs) For the first four weeks, US$ 10 per person per week and After four weeks, US$20 per person per week or equivalent convertible foreign currency.
10TAPLEJUNG DISTRICT
Kanchanjanga Region (Areas of Olangchung Gola, Lelep, Papung and Yamphudin VDCs)
